1950's Hollywood Glamour- pastel

The 50's where all about glamour- mainly in Hollywood, as Britain was still recovering from the war. Women wanted to look feminine, much like the 20's. The pastel colours soften your appearance, working towards a classic and elegant appearance that women of the time aimed for. the classic look was also achieved by wearing simple makeup- usually red lips, defined eyebrows and a dark lash.

I love the lace detail of the dress on the left, the pale pink makes it girly and fairytale like- this is also created by the synched in waist and the underskirt which makes the dress flow out creating a full skirt.

I love the detail on the dress on the left, the scrunched up fabric in the contrasting yellow draws the eye to the waist, adding something extra to the dress, making it look more extravagant.
