Fashion history- mens 18th fashion

I started to research historical fashion trends, to see how fashion evolves through the decades. I came across an interesting article on BBC's news website- http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-16870841. One of the main features in the article is how mens fashion has evolved. In the 18th century men where seen like this-

'When it comes to male preening and blurring the gender divide, it was a group of young British aristocrats who led the way in the mid-1700s. Known as the Macaronis, they shocked and scandalised - and revelled in doing so.
The style was started by a group of rich young men who took the Grand Tour around Europe after finishing their formal education. Think of it as a very expensive and very exclusive 18th Century gap year.
They adopted the flamboyant continental styles of the French and Italians, but taking every detail to the very extreme. Supposedly, the name Macaroni came about because they also developed a taste for the food in Italy.'
I thought that it was really interesting that mens fashion has changed so drastically! nowadays you would never associate rich men with fancy wigs and stockings! But for a French aristocrat it was all the rage, which filtered down to men seeking a change in their own fashion. As we know, fashion seems to revolve in a cycle, does that mean we will be seeing guys in wigs and tights... i hope not!
